TUI INSIDE – the largest tourist event in Croatia for the first time

The first of six groups with a total of 900 agents arrived

(Dubrovnik, May 7th, 2011) The first group of agents arrived to Dubrovnik this afternoon as a part of the largest promotional and educational campaign, TUI Inside, that is being implemented by TUI Germany in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and the Croatian Tourism Board with the support of the City of Dubrovnik, Dubrovnik – Neretva County and the local government units along the coast. 
TUI Inside is the most comprehensive sales campaign of TUI and the most comprehensive campaign of the German tourism sector in general. This year, it is being implemented for the ninth time, and due to its high level of attraction, extraordinary media attention, special attention of travel agents and the increase in sales results, the number of destinations – candidates is very large every year. Although, so far generally „large“ destinations such as Spain, Turkey, Egypt, Italy, Cuba, etc. were chosen, this year a „small“ destination – Croatia was chosen for the first time, and we are extremely proud of it. 
The goals of TUI Inside campaign are extremely significant for Croatian tourism in general, and when speaking of the German speaking area. One of the most important goals is to increase awareness of Croatia as a modern country with various possibilities through transformation of Croatia’s image as a cheap, mass-tourism destination, the end-result of which will be increase in sales. 
The Project has been ongoing from November 2010, and it involved education about Croatia and its tourism offer for all 9000 travel agents through different stages, testing through which 2000 travel agents were selected to enter the second round of training and participate in one-day workshops held in ten German cities during February 2011. Among them, 900 were selected in accordance with the highest test scores and former sales of arrangements for Croatia. They are the ones to participate in the final stage – the three-day Insider trip for winners, where they will be presented with awards. Six groups of 150-180 travel agents will stay in Dubrovnik throughout May. The principal slogan of the campaign “New quality of an old destination” is trying to change Croatia’s image of an average destination to that of an excellent destination, which made Dubrovnik our city of choice. 
Hotels Valamar and Rixos, and the Dubrovnik Airport are the co-organizers of the event in Dubrovnik. 
For the purposes of presenting everything our area offers, other than the working part, each of the mentioned groups will also visit locations which are included in our offer due to their specific characteristics: Ston, Konavle, Sipan, Lokrum and Srdj. The second day ends in a Gala dinner with an award ceremony that is held at the restaurant Klarisa, with the performance of our famous violoncello player Ana Rucner. The final dinner for each group will take place on Lovrijenac so that the City, as the most famous Croatian destination, could present itself in the best possible light.
